11Highlighting and Selecting Menu ItemsTo navigate On-screen Menus, use the VOL UP/DOWNand/or CHANNEL keys.While in Menu Mode, the VOL UP/DOWN keys movethe cursor (or the highlight) right/left. CHANNEL keysmove the cursor (or the highlight) up/down.For RCA, GE or PROSCAN products, press the MENUkey to select the highlighted item. If menu itemshave numbers next to them, you can use the number keysto select an item. Additionally, the ENTER key can be usedto select menu choices.For Sony products, pressing the ENTER key whilein Menu Mode returns you to the previous menu.MENU1. Make sure your componentsare turned on and your TV isset to the component's input.2. Press the component key onthe remote (TV, VCR•DVD orDBS•CABLE) for the desiredmenu screen.3. Press the MENU key. The indicatorlight blinks continuously to indicatethe remote is in Menu Mode andthe component’s menu shouldappear on the TV screen.(BLINK)Notes:All functions in competitive models andbrands of products may not be fully supported.The remote will automatically time out in MenuMode and the indicator light will stop blinking afterapproximately 10 seconds of inactivity (no keys beingpressed). For DVD menus, the Menu Mode will timeout after approximately 15 seconds.Because of the wide variety of menu formats,some experimenting may be required.Exiting a Menu SystemTo exit Menu Mode, press the corresponding componentkey on the remote (TV, VCR•DVD or DBS•CABLE).The indicator light goes out and the remote reverts toits normal operation.This is an example of a DVD disc On-screen Menu.English is the menu choice highlighted.
