6Setup7OperationPowering Your RadioPower your radio in one of two ways:• Insert a 6V, 400mA AC adapter withDC plug center negative (not included) intothe DC IN 6V jack to power your radio.OR• Insert 4 “AA” batteries (not included). Insert batteries asindicated by the polarity symbols + and -.Battery Note:• When BATT flashes, replace the batteries.• Dispose of batteries promptly and properly. Do not burn orbury them.• Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type.• Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries (alkaline or rechargeable), orrechargeable batteries of different capacities.• If you do not plan to use the radio for a long time, remove the batteries. Batteries can leakchemicals that can damage electronic parts.Basic OperationSetting the TimeWhen you turn on your radio for the firsttime, the clock displays 0:00 or AM 12:00and the clock time icon 1 .Set the Clock Time1. Press POWER to turn on the radio.2. Press DISPLAY to show time status.3. Press and hold until 1 flashes.4. Using the digit buttons, enter thecorrect time and press again toconfirm.n Note: If you enter an incorrect time (suchas 9:99), the radio will beep and Err flashes inthe display.Set Dual TimeYou can set an additional clock time foranother time zone.1. With the radio on, press CLOCK 1/2 toset dual time, 2 flashes.2. Press . 2 stops flashing.3. Press and hold until 2 flashes.4. Using the digit buttons, enter thecorrect time and press again toconfirm.View Clock and Dual Time• Press CLOCK 1/2 to show clock anddual time. The display will show eachtime for 7 seconds.• Press CLOCK 1/2 and to changeyour default standby time display toeither clock or dual time.
