Whenthe battery is inserted yet empty, please al-so observe the drive HMI indication. Other-wise, the battery can become damaged.In order for the battery to be inserted, the key17 must be inserted into the lock 18 and thelock must be unlocked.To insert the standard battery 20, place it viathe contacts onto the bottom holder 21 on theeBike. Pivot the battery to the stop into the up-per holder 19.To insert the rear rack battery 14, slide it for-wards with the contacts facing ahead until it en-gages in holder 13 on the rear rack.Check if the battery is tightly seated. Alwayslock the battery with lock 18, as otherwise thelock can open and the battery can fall out of theholder.After locking, always remove the key 17 from thelock 18. This prevents the key from falling outand the battery from being removed from unau-thorised persons when the eBike is parked.To remove the standard battery 20, switch itoff and unlock the lock with the key 17. Pivot thebattery out of the upper holder 19 and pull it bythe carrying strap 22 out of the bottom holder21.To remove the rear rack battery 14, switch itoff and unlock the lock with the key 17. Pull thebattery out of the holder 13.OperationInitial Operationf Use only original Bosch batteries approvedfor your eBike by the manufacturer. Usingother batteries can lead to injuries and posea fire hazard. When using other batteries,Bosch shall not assume any liability and war-ranty.Switching On and OffBefore switching on the battery, check that thelock 18 is locked.Note: When switching on the battery, the pedalsof the eBike may not be subject to load, as oth-erwise the output capacity of the drive will belimited.To switch on the battery, press the On/Off but-ton 16. The LEDs of indicator 15 light up and atthe same time indicate the charge condition.Note: When the battery capacity is below 5 %,none of the LEDs of charge-control indicator 15will light up. Only the drive HMI will indicate ifthe battery is switched on.Switching on the battery is one of the require-ments for starting up the eBike drive. Read andobserve the operating instructions of the driveunit and the drive HMI.To switch off the battery, press the On/Off but-ton 16 again. The LEDs of indicator 15 go out.This also switches off the eBike drive.When no power output of the drive is requestedfor approx. 10 minutes, (e.g., because the eBikeis parked), the battery automatically switchesoff to save energy.The battery is protected against deep discharg-ing, overcharging, overheating and short-circuit-ing through the “Electronic Cell Protection(ECP)”. In case of hazardous situations, a pro-tective circuit automatically switches off thebattery.
