Operation manual - Spider ILD0133 / 54 rev. 07-01-01-201010.8 DRIVING THE MACHINEThe machine movement is controlled by joystick(7) (forward and reverse) (see the symbol underthe controller on the remote radio controller) andby joystick (8) (Left/ right). By combining thesetwo controls you will be able to control themachine. When these joysticks are moved, the machineeither accelerates or steers.NOTICE:Accelerate slowly so as to be able toreact to the direction in which themower starts to move. The V shapedtread pattern on the tyres denotes the directionthe machine will move when forwards motion isselected. When driving, slowly move the joystick in thedesired forward or reverse direction. When changing the forward motion to reversemotion, always leave the joystick for a shortmoment in the neutral positron. When driving the mower, always set themaximum engine speed. Driving with anylower engine speed is prohibited. In cold weather let the engine run for about 2 minutesto allow the oil to get warm before driving.10.9 DRIVING SPEED OF THE MOWERAlways choose a suitable driving speed, whichenables an acceptable mowing quality. Whenselecting speed, always start with slow andproceed to fast, not the other way around. If thegrowth is thin, you may mow at higher speed. To control the driving speed you can also use thedriving speed controller (2), which let’s you choosebetween high (rabbit) and low (turtle) drivingspeeds. When starting to operate, always use thelow (turtle) speed range. Also choose the lowspeed range when mowing either slopes steeperthan 20 degrees or an uneven terrain.Never reduce the driving speed byreducing th e e ngine s peed!!! Alwaysuse joystick (7) to reduce the speed.Higher speed range: 0-7 km.h1, 0-5 mphLower speed range: 0-3 km.h1 0-2 mphIT I S P ROHIBITEDto drive on slopessteeped than 20 degrees with the mowingdevice engaged and the controller switched tothe high-speed (rabbit) position.IT IS PROHIBITEDto switch to the high-speed position while mowing. Stop themachine before selecting a different speedrange.
