Operation manual - Spider ILD017 / 54 rev. 07-01-01-20102.5 GUIDELINES FOR THE DISPOSALOF SCRAP PRODUCTSWhen it has been identified that a turf care producthas no further functional value and requiresdisposal, the following actions should be taken.These guidelines should be used in conjunction withHealth, Safety and Environmental legislation and useof approved local facilities for waste disposal andrecycling.• Position the machine in a suitablelocation for any necessary liftingequipment to be used.• Use appropriate tools and PersonalProtective Equipment (PPE) and takeguidance from the technical manualsapplicable to the machine.• Remove and store appropriately:1. Batteries2. Fuel Residue3. OilsDisassemble the structure of the machine referringto the technical manuals where appropriate. Specialattention should be made for dealing with “storedenergy” within pressurized elements of the machineor tensioned springs.Any items that still have a useful service life assecond hand components or can be re-servicedshould be separated and returned to the relevantcentre.Other worn out items should be separated intomaterial groups for recycling and disposalconsistent with available facilities. Morecommon separation types are as follows:• SteelNon ferrous metals• AluminiumBrass• Copper• Plastics• Identifiable• Recyclable• Non recyclable• Non identified• Rubber• Electrical and electronic components• Items that cannot be separatedeconomically into different material groupsshould be added to the “General waste”area.• Do not incarnate waste.Finally update machinery records to indicate that themachine has been taken out of service and scrapped.
