Chapter 13: Dominion KX II Local Console218Using the Dominion KX II Local ConsoleSimultaneous UsersThe Dominion KX II Local Console provides an independent access pathto the connected KVM target servers. Using the Local Console does notprevent other users from simultaneously connecting over the network.And even when remote users are connected to the Dominion KX II, youcan still simultaneously access your servers from the rack via the LocalConsole.Security and AuthenticationIn order to use the Dominion KX II Local Console, you must firstauthenticate with a valid username and password. The Dominion KX IIprovides a fully-integrated authentication and security scheme, whetheryour access is via the network or the local port. In either case, theDominion KX II allows access only to those servers to which a user hasaccess permissions. See User Management (on page 94) for additionalinformation on specifying server access and security settings.If your Dominion KX II has been configured for external authenticationservices (LDAP/LDAPS, RADIUS, or Active Directory), authenticationattempts at the Local Console also are authenticated against the externalauthentication service.Note: You can also specify no authentication for Local Console access;this option is recommended only for secure environments.To use the Dominion KX II Local Console:1.
