11.1 Fuel manager overviewThe fuel manager provides an estimate of fuelremaining, and the distance and time which canbe travelled before the tanks are empty. In orderto calculate these values, you must configure thetotal capacity of fuel available to the engines andlog each time you add fuel. The fuel manager alsoallows you to set a low fuel warning alarm which issounded when the vessel's estimated fuel falls belowa specified value. The fuel manager page provides current calculationestimates and controls to enable use of the fuelmanager feature.D12569-112367581094Item Option Description1 Back Back to SystemSet-up menu —Touchscreen displays (Fornon-touchscreen displaysuse the Back button).2 Estimated fuelremaining (%)Graphical representation ofpercentageoffuelremainingin the fuel tank(s).3 All tanks full Resets fuel remaining to fulltank capacity.4 Turn On/Off Turn fuel manager On orOff.5 Close Back to Homescreen —Touchscreen displays (Fornon-touchscreen displaysuse the Back button).6 Estimated fuelremaining (vol)Volume of fuel remaining inthe fuel tank(s).7 Reset (Fuel usedthis season.)Reset the fuel used thisseason to zero.8 Reset (Fuel usedthis trip.)Reset the fuel used this tripto zero.9 Add partial fill Specify fill amount byvolume10 Set-up Specify settings for fuelmanager. In order to use the fuel manager you must:• Connect a compatible engine interface to eachengine you wish to monitor (to provide fuel flowrate data to the network).• Enter the total fuel capacity of the vessel’s fueltanks.• Turn on the fuel manager feature.• Fill the fuel tanks to full.• Select ‘All tanks full’.• Log each subsequent fuel fill whether partial or full.Note:Fuel manager estimates the amount of fuelonboard, based on the user logging each time youfill up, the total fuel capacity, and how much fuel isburned by the engine(s). Any incorrect entry coulddramatically affect the estimated fuel usage andcapacity which could result in a shortage of fuel. This system is not a substitute for other types offuel calculations.Total fuel onboard is an estimate and will beinaccurate if fuel fills are not entered, or fuel isused by other sources (e.g. generators etc.).Estimated distance and time to empty will bebased on the fuel remaining calculation and valuesdo not include weather/tide effects. You should not rely on the fuel managercalculations for accurate voyage planning or inemergency and safety critical situations.Enabling the fuel managerTo turn the fuel manager on and off follow the stepsbelow. From the homescreen.1.
