US-12CHT220/CHT220L7. Starting and stoppingWarm engineHold the body of the machine on the ground using your lefthand (CAUTION! Not with your foot!). Grip the starterhandle, slowly pull out the cord with your right hand untilyou feel some resistance (the starter pawls grip), nowquickly and powerfully pull the cord. Never wrap thestarter cord around your hand.StoppingThe engine is switched off by moving the stop switch to thestop position.CAUTION!The stop switch automatically returns to the start position.Inorder to prevent unintentional starting, the spark plug capmust be removed from the spark plug when assembling,checking and/or performing maintenance.■ GENERAL WORKING INSTRUCTIONSIMPORTANT!This section takes up the basic safety precautions forworking with a hedge trimmer.If you encounter a situation where you are uncertain howto proceed you should ask an expert.
