To install the ceiling firestop/firestop spacer ina flat ceiling or floor joist cut a 10- ¼ inch square hole. Frame the hole asshow in Diagram 1 and install the ceiling firestop. Slide the top attic insula-tion spacer onto the top of the attic insulation shield/firestop - See Diagram1a. Secure with 4 screws/nails.
