62 | City Series CB72EPVinstallation1. Locate the unit in the framing, rough in the gas(preferably on the right side of the unit). Locatethe centerline of the termination and mark wallaccordingly. Cut an square hole in the wall - seechart (inside dimension).2. Level the fireplace and fasten it to the framingusing nails or screws through the nailing strips.3. Assemble the vent assembly by applying MillPac to the inner flue collar of the termination andslipping the inner flex liner over it at least 1-3/8"(35mm). Fasten with the 3 screws (drilling pilotholes will make this easier). Apply Mill-Pac tothe outer flex pipe and slip it over the outer fluecollar of the vent terminal at least 1-3/8"(35mm)and fasten with the 3 screws.Minimum Vent Clearancesto CombustiblesUnit Installation with HorizontalTermination4" X 6-5/8" VENTING(Flex Vent Systems )NOTE: Horizontal sections must be sup-ported at intervals not exceeding3 feet (0.9 meter). (Flame pictureand performance will be affectedby sags in the liner).4. Slip the assembled liner and termination as-sembly through the thimble making sure thetermination cap faces up (there are markingson the cap indicating which way is up). This willposition the termination cap with proper downslope for draining water. Fasten the cap to theouter wall with the 4 supplied screws.5. Pull the centre inner and outer flex liner outenough to slip over the flue collars of the fire-place. (You may wish to cut the liner shorterto make it more workable.) Do not bend linermore than 90°. The liners must slip over thecollars a minimum of 1-3/8".6. Apply Mill Pac over the fireplace inner fluecollar and slip the inner flex liner down over itand attach with 3 supplied screws.7. Do the same with the outer flue collar and outerflex liner.8. Apply a bead of silicone between the thimbleand termination and around the outer edge ofthe terminal at the wall in order to keep thewater out.IMPORTANT: Do not locate termination hoodwhere excessive snow or ice buildup mayoccur. Be sure to check vent terminationarea after snow falls, and clear to preventaccidental blockage of venting system. Whenusing snow blowers, make sure snow is notdirected towards vent termination area.* Clearances noted below must be maintained; exceptwhen passing through a wall, ceiling or at the terminationwhere the use of a firestop or wall thimble reducesclearance to 1-1/2" (38mm).Recommended Framed Opening SizeVent Size Framing Size4" x 6-5/8" 13-1/2" x 13-1/2"Below are the recommended framing dimensions(inside measurements) for the 4" x 6-5/8" rigidvent terminations - for use with a firestop or wallthimble.Horizontal Top* 3" (76mm)*Horizontal Side 2 " (51mm)Horizontal Bottom 2" (51mm)Vertical Vent 2" (51mm)
