Locate the centerline ofthe termination and mark wall accordingly.Cut a 10"(254mm) hole in the wall (insidedimension).Note: To make the installation moreaesthetically pleasing, we recommendframing out a square to mount theterminal to.*If this is an outside corner, the minimum distance between the flue and the outsidecorner is 6" (15cm) with AstroCap termination cap or 12" (30cm) with Dura-Venttermination cap. See "F" on the diagram on page 10.Note: A 2-1/2" (64mm) horizontal top and1-1/2" (38mm) horizontal sides &bottom clearance around the linermust be maintained except that onlya 1" (25mm) clearance is needed atthe termination end. We recommendframing a 10"(254mm) x 10"(254mm)(inside dimensions) hole to givestructural rigidity for mounting thetermination.Note: If installing termination on a sidingcovered wall, furring strips must beused to ensure that the terminationis not recessed into the siding.2) Level the fireplace and fasten it to the framingusing nails or screws through the nailingstrips.3) Assemble the flue assembly by applyingMill Pac to the 4"(100mm) inner collar of thetermination and slipping the 4"(100mm) linerover it at least 1-3/8" (35mm). Fasten withthe 3 screws (drilling pilot holes will make thiseasier). Apply Mill Pac or high temperaturesilicone to the 6-7/8"(175mm) flex pipe andslip it over the 6-7/8" outer collar of the flueterminal at least 1-3/8"(35mm) and fastenwith the 3 screws.4) Separate the 2 halves of the wall thimble andsecurely fasten the one with the tabs to theoutside wall making sure that the tabs areon top and bottom. Fasten the other thimblehalf to the inside wall. The thimble halvesslip inside each other and can be adjustedfor 2 x 4 or 2 x 6 walls. The liners must slipover the collars a minimum of 1-3/8".5) Slip the assembled liner and terminationassembly through the thimble making surethe termination cap faces up (there aremarkings on the cap that show which wayis up). This will position the termination capwith proper down slope for draining water.Fasten the cap to the outer wall with the 4supplied screws.6) Pull the centre 4"(100mm) liner and outer6-7/8"(175mm) liner out enough to slip overthe flue collars of the fireplace.7) Apply Mill Pac over the fireplace inner collarand slip the 4"(100mm) liner down over itand attach with 3 supplied screws.8) Do the same with the 6-7/8"(175mm) liner.9) Apply a bead of silicone between the thimbleand termination and around the outer edgeof the terminal at the wall in order to keepthe water out.IMPORTANT: Do not locate terminationhood where excessive snow or icebuildup may occur. Be sure to checkfl ue termination area after snow falls, and clear to prevent accidental blockageof fl ueing system. When using snowblowers, make sure snow is not directedtowards fl ue termination area.
