Carefully read all the instructions inthis manual first. Consult the "authority havingjurisdiction" to determine the need for a permitprior to starting the installation. It is the respon-sibility of the installer to ensure this fireplaceis installed in compliance with manufacturer'sinstructions and all applicable codes.BEFORE YOU STARTSafe installation and operation of this appli-ance requires common sense, however, weare required by the Canadian Safety Standardsand ANSI Standards to make you aware of thefollowing:INSTALLATIONAND REPAIR SHOULDBE DONE BY A QUALIFIED SERVICEPERSON. THE APPLIANCE SHOULDBE INSPECTED BEFORE USEAND AT LEAST ANNUALLY BY APROFESSIONAL SERVICE PERSON.MORE FREQUENT CLEANING MAYBE REQUIRED DUE TO EXCESSIVELINT FROM CARPETING, BEDDINGMATERIAL, ETC. The appliance and flue shouldbe enclosed.4) This appliance must be connected to thespecified flue and termination cap to theoutside of the building envelope. Never flueto another room or inside a building. Makesure that the flue is fitted as per Flueinginstructions.5) Inspect the flueing system annually forblockage and any signs of deterioration.6) Flueing terminals shall not be recessed intoa wall or siding.7) Any safety glass removed for servicingmust be replaced prior to operating theappliance.8) To prevent injury, do not allow anyone whois unfamiliar with the operation to use thefireplace.9) Wear gloves and safety glasses for protectionwhile doing required maintenance.10) Be aware of electrical wiring locations inwalls and ceilings when cutting holes fortermination.11) Under no circumstances should thisappliance be modified. Parts that have tobe removed for servicing should be replacedprior to operating this appliance.12) Installation and any repairs to this applianceshould be done by a qualified service person.A professional service person should becalled to inspect this appliance annually.Make it a practice to have all of your gasappliances checked annually.13) Do not slam shut or strike the glass door.14) Under no circumstances should any solid fuels(wood, paper, cardboard, coal, etc.) be usedin this appliance.15) The appliance area must be kept clear andfree of combustible materials, (gases andother flammable vapours and liquids).MANUFACTUREDMOBILE HOMEADDITIONALREQUIREMENTS1) Ensure that structural members are not cutor weakened during installation.2) Ensure proper grounding using the #8ground lug provided.
