Check the scope of delivery. Check thatthe specifications on the valve nameplatematch the specifications in the deliverynote. See the 'Markings on the device'section for nameplate details.2. Check the shipment for transportationdamage. Report any damage to SAM-SON and the forwarding agent (refer todelivery note).3. Determine the weight and dimensions ofthe units to be lifted and transported inorder to select the appropriate liftingequipment and lifting accessories. Referto the transport documents and the 'Tech-nical data' section.4.2 Removing the packagingfrom the valveObserve the following sequence:Î Do not open or remove the packaginguntil immediately before lifting to installthe valve into the pipeline.Î Leave the control valve in its transportcontainer or on the pallet to transport iton site.Î Do not remove the protective caps fromthe inlet and outlet until immediately be-fore installing the valve into the pipeline.They prevent foreign particles from enter-ing the valve.Î Dispose and recycle the packaging in ac-cordance with the local regulations.4.3 Transporting and lifting thevalveRisk due to suspended loads falling.Î Stay clear of suspended or movingloads.Î Close off and secure the transport paths.Risk of lifting equipment tipping over andrisk of damage to lifting accessories due toexceeding the rated lifting capacity.Î Only use approved lifting equipment andaccessories whose minimum lifting ca-pacity is higher than the weight of thevalve (including actuator and packaging,if applicable).DANGER!WARNING!
