On the bottom of this equipmentis a label that contains, among otherinformation, the FCC registration numberand Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) forthis equipment. You may need to providethis information to your telephone company.Type of ServiceModel FX505 is designed to be used onstandard device telephone lines. Connectionto telephone company-provided coin service(central office implemented systems) isprohibited. Connection to party-line serviceis subject to state tariffs.Telephone CompanyProceduresThe goal of the telephone company is toprovide you with the best service it can. Inorder to do this, it may occasionally benecessary for it to make changes in itsequipment, operation, or procedures. Ifthese changes affect your service or theoperation of the equipment, the telephonecompany will give you notice, in writing, toallow you to make any changes necessaryto maintain uninterrupted service.If you have any questions about yourtelephone line, such as how many pieces ofequipment you can connect to it, telephonecompany will provide this information uponrequest.In certain circumstances, it may benecessary for the telephone company torequest information from you concerning theequipment which you have connected toyour telephone line. Upon request of thetelephone company, provide the FCCregistration number and the RingerEquivalence Number (REN) of theequipment which is connected to your line;both of these items are listed on theequipment label and in the ServiceInformation chapter of this guide. The sumof all of the RENs on your telephone lineshould be less than five in order to assureproper service from the telephone company.In some cases, a sum of five may not beusable on a given line.About interferenceThis equipment has been tested and foundto comply with the limits for a Class Bdigital device, pursuant to Part 15 of theFCC Rules. These limits are designed toprovide reasonable protection againstharmful interference in a residentialinstallation. This equipment generates, uses,and can radiate radio frequency energy and,if not installed and used in accordance withthe instructions, may cause harmfulinterference to radio communications.However, there is no guarantee thatinterference will not occur in a particularinstallation. If this equipment does causeharmful interference to radio or televisionreception, which can be determined byturning the equipment off and on, the useris encouraged to try to correct theinterference by one or more the followingmeasures:n Reorient or relocate the receivingantenna.n Increase the separation between theequipment and the receiver.n Connect the equipment into an outlet ona circuit different from that to which thereceiver is connected.n Consult the dealer or an experiencedradio/TV technician for help.
