050Using the Mirror Lock Up FunctionThe mirror lock up function minimizes camera shake. When the shutter buttonis pressed, the mirror pops up first to reduce camera shake while shooting.1. Press the Fn button on your camera andthen press the direction button (▲).- The Drive Mode options screen appears.- If the AF mode is not set to SEL, you candirectly press the direction buttons (▲) to usethe drive mode.2. Press the direction buttons (◄►) to select[Self-Timer (2 secs)].3. Focus on the subject.4. Press the shutter release button fully. The mirror pops up and the picture istaken 2 seconds later. The AE lock is enabled with the exposure value setimmediately before the mirror goes up.● You cannot see the subject through the viewfinder for the next twoseconds after you press the shutter button.● Using the tripod minimize camera shake while you keep the sameangle of view.When using the mirror lock-up function, do not aim the camera toward thesun.
