Connections 67Memory CardYour phone supports optional, removable microSD™ ormicroSDHC™ memory cards of up to 32 GB capacity, for storageof music, pictures, videos, and other files.Installing and Removing a Memory CardFor information about installing and removing a memory card,see “Memory Card” on page 11.Important!: To prevent damage to information stored on the memory card,unmount the card before removing it from the phone.Erasing a Memory CardErasing prepares a used Memory Card for use with your phone byerasing all content and adding required folders.Caution!: Do not routinely erase Memory Cards when you simply wish todelete some files. Repeated erasing of a Memory Card can shortenits useful life.1. From the Home screen, touch Menu ➔ Settings ➔Storage.2. Touch Unmount SD card.3. After unmounting the SD card, touch Erase SD card.4. Follow the prompts to confirm the erasure of the card.Transferring Files to a Memory Card1. Attach your phone to the computer with the USB DataCable. Your phone recognizes the connection and displaysUSB connected in the Annunciator Line.2. Display the Notifications Panel, then touch USB connected.At the prompt, touch Turn on USB storage to enable copyingof files between your computer and the memory card.3. Touch OK.4. On your PC, launch Windows Explorer. Your phone willappear as a “Removable Disk”.5. Within the Windows Explorer window, drag and drop filesfrom the PC to the memory card installed in your phone.6. When finished, display the Notifications Panel, then touchTurn off USB storage. You can now disconnect the USB DataCable.
