Messaging 62Message SettingsUse the Msg Settings sub-menus to define general settings andtext message settings.General Message Settings1. In Standby mode, press Messages, then press Msg Settings➔ General.The following options appear in the display:• Auto Save: Choose whether messages are saved automaticallywhen you exit them (On, Off, Prompt).• Auto Erase: Choose to receive (On) or not receive (Off) a warningmessage when you delete a message.• Quick Text: Edits pre-composed messages to insert into newmessages.• Voicemail #: Edits or views your Voicemail number.• Entry Mode: Choose the default method for entering text intomessages (T9 word, T9 Word, T9 WORD, abc, Abc, ABC, 123).• Callback #: Choose whether to include a callback phone numberwith outgoing messages, and enter the number to include.• Signature: Choose whether to include a text signature in outgoingmessage text, and enter the text to include.• Reminder: Select whether and how often you hear and/or feel areminder that you received a message (Once, Every 2 Minutes,Every 15 Minutes, Off).2. Select the desired option to enter the highlighted option’ssub-menu.Editing and Entering Quick Text1. In Standby mode, press Messages, then select MsgSettings ➔ General ➔ Quick Text. The Quick Text sub-menuappears in the display.2. To create a new Quick Text:• Press New.Tip: You can also create new Quick Text by viewing/editing an Outbox orDrafts message and using the Save Quick Text option in the Optionsmenu. (For more information, refer to “Review Messages in the Outbox”on page 57)• Enter/change the text content of Quick Text using the keypad. (Formore information, refer to “Entering Text” on page 18.)• Press OK when you are finished entering Quick Text. The Quick Textmenu appears in the display with the new Quick Text highlighted.3. To change a Quick Text:• Highlight a Quick Text you want to change, then press EDIT. (Youcannot change the pre-defined Quick Text included with the phone.)Note: You cannot change or erase pre-loaded Quick Texts.• Enter/change the text content of Quick Text using the keypad.
