79Section 9: Voice SVCThis section explains how to use your phone’s speech recognitionsoftware to place calls and to launch a number of your phone’sfeatures.Launching Voice SVCVoice Service is state-of-the-art voice recognition software foryour mobile phone that lets you dial numbers, lookup contactinformation, and open applications using your voice. To launchVoice Service, do the following:1. In Standby mode, press Menu, then select Tools ➔ VoiceSVC. The Voice SVC menu appears in the display with thefollowing available options:• Voice Commands: Launches the voice recognition function, lettingyou place calls, access your Contacts list, review your Calendar, andmore by speaking commands into your phone. Also see “Makinga Call — Voice Dialing” on page 27 and “Voice Method” onpage 37 for more information.Tip: You can also launch Voice Commands from Standby mode, by pressingand holding .• Voice Settings: Lets you tailor Voice Services functions to suit yourvoice and phone use preferences, and displays version informationabout the Voice Services software.2. Press the desire option.Voice CommandsTo use Voice Commands, do the following:1. From the Voice SVC menu, select Voice Commands.“Say a Command” appears in the display, and ispronounced through the earpiece, followed by a list ofavailable commands:Tip: You can set your phone to start Voice Service when you plug in aheadset. (For more information, refer to “Voice Launch” on page 83.)• Call: Prompts you to place calls by saying any of the following:– A Contact name stored in your contact list.Voice Service automatically voice-activates all your contacts, even if youhave hundreds of them stored on your phone.– A telephone number, even if it is not stored in your contact list.
