Getting Started22Your Phone’s ModesStandby ModeStandby mode is the most basic state of yourphone. The phone goes into Standby mode soonafter you turn it on, or whenever you briefly pressthe key. When your phone is in Standby mode,you will typically see the current time and date. Ifyou enter a phone number, you can press thekey to dial it, or press the Save soft key to save itin the internal Phonebook.Press the key at any time to return to Standbymode. Be careful; if you are on a call when youpress the key, your phone disconnects the calland returns to Standby mode. Press the C keyseveral times or hold it to return to Standby modewithout ending the call.Talk ModeYou can place and answer calls only when yourphone is turned on. During a call, the phone is inTalk mode. While you are in Talk mode, pressing theMenu soft key gives you a list of options. Seepage 34 for details on the options.Power Save ModeYour phone comes with a power save feature thatwill automatically be activated if your phone isunable to find a signal after 15 minutes ofsearching. While this feature is active, the phone’sbattery charge is conserved. To return to Standbymode, press any key.
