Menu functions80Connectivity (Menu 9.6)Use this menu to set options for connection availableon your phone.Bluetooth (Menu 9.6.1)Using Bluetooth wireless, you can connect the phonewirelessly to other Bluetooth devices and exchangedata with them, talk hands-free, or control thephone remotely.Bluetooth technology allows free wirelessconnections between all Bluetooth-compliantdevices within a range of 10 metres. Since thedevices communicate using radio waves, they do notneed to be in line of sight to each other.Setting up the Bluetooth featureThe Bluetooth menu provides the followingoptions:• Activation: activate or deactivate the Bluetoothfeature.• My devices: search for connectable Bluetoothdevices.• My phone’s visibility: allow other Bluetoothdevices to locate your phone, or hide yourvisibility.• My phone’s name: assign a Bluetooth devicename to your phone, which is then displayed onother devices.• Secure mode: determine if the phone asks foryour confirmation when other devices accessyour data.• Bluetooth service: display available Bluetoothservices.Searching for and pairing with a Bluetoothdevice1. From the Bluetooth menu, select My devices.2. Select Search new device.After searching, a list of devices to which you canconnect displays. The following icons indicate thetype of device:• Hands-free car kit• Mobile phone• Computer• If there are obstacles between the devices, theoperating distance may be reduced.• It is recommended that you do not use theBluetooth feature while using multimediafeatures, such as voice recorder, camera, andmedia player, or vice versa, for the betterperformance.• Some devices, espectally those that are nottested or approved by SIG, may beincompatible with your phone.
