63Section 6: ContactsThis section explains how to use andmanage your Contacts List. You can savephone numbers to your phone’s memory.AccountsFrom the Accounts menu you decide if youwant applications to synchronize, send, andreceive data at any given time, or if you wantthe applications to synchronize automatically.After determining how you want the accountsto synchronize, indicate which account tosynchronize with your Contacts list.1. Sign in to your Google account.2. From the Home screen, press andthen tap Settings ➔ Accounts and sync.3. From the General sync settings section,touch one of the following options:• Background data: allows your phone touse data in the background.• Auto-sync: automatically synchronizesyour data with the phone.4. From the Manage accounts area, tapnext to the account you want tosynchronize.– or –Tap Add account to create a newaccount.5. Tap an account type to add.6. Follow the on-screen instructions. Theselected account type synchronizeswith your Contacts list.Contacts ListCreating a ContactThe defaultstorage locationfor saving phonenumbers to yourContacts List isyour phone’sbuilt-in memory.If existing Googleand Corporateemail accountshave beensynchronized toyour phone,these will be made available to your deviceduring the creation of new entries. Thesenew Contacts entries can be assigned orsaved to synced accounts such as Phone,SIM, or Google.Your phone automatically sorts the Contactsentries alphabetically. You can create eithera Phone, SIM, Google, or Microsoft ExchangeActiveSync contact.
