168Access CodesThere are several access codes that are used byyour phone and its SIM card. These codes help youprotect the phone against unauthorised use.Some access codes can be changed using theSecurity menu option (Menu 4.5). See page 111for further details.Phone PasswordThe Phone lock feature (see page 112) uses thephone password to protect your phone againstunauthorised use.The phone password is supplied with the phone andis preset to “00000000” at the factory. To changethe password, use the Change password menuoption (Menu 4.5.4). See page 112.PINThe PIN (Personal Identification Number) protectsyour SIM card against unauthorised use. It isusually supplied with the SIM card. When the PINCheck feature is enabled (see page 111), you mustenter the PIN each time you switch on the phone.If you key in an incorrect PIN three times insuccession, key in the PUK and press the Ok softkey to unlock the phone. Key in a new PIN andpress the Ok soft key. Key in the new PIN again andpress the Ok soft key.Access Codes169PIN2The PIN2, supplied with some SIM cards, is requiredto access some functions, such as charging unitcounters. These functions are only available ifsupported by your SIM card.If you key in an incorrect PIN2 three times insuccession, key in the PUK2 and press the Ok softkey to unlock the phone. Key in a new PIN2 andpress the Ok soft key. Key in the new PIN2 againand press the Ok soft key.PUKThe PUK (PIN Unblocking Key) is required to changea blocked PIN. The PUK may be supplied with theSIM card. If not, contact your local service provider.If you key in an incorrect PUK ten times insuccession, the SIM card cannot be used anymore.Contact your service provider for a new card.You cannot change the PUK. If you lose the code,contact your service provider.
