3938Manual pause dialingTo perform manual pause dialing without first storing thenumber in the Internal Phone Book, enter pauses manuallyusing the Digit Entry menu during the dialing process.To manually dial a number using a pause(s):1. Enter the phone number of the service you want to call(such as a bank’s teleservice phone number). For exam-ple, your bank’s teleservice phone number might be an800 number.2. Press to display digit dialing options.3. Press the associated digit key to select an option:Press for a Hard Pause.The screen displays a “p”indicating a hard pause. Enter the number to be sentafter the pause by pressing the digit keys, and thenpress . After connecting, press again totransmit the additional number.Press for a two Second Pause.The screen dis-plays a “T” indicating a timed pause.The screenprompts for the number to be sent after the pause.Enter the number to be sent after the pause by press-ing the digit keys, and then press . The phonetransmits the number that follows the pause two sec-onds after connection.Note: Storing numbers is recommended if you plan to dialthe number in the future.2. Press . More options display. Press orto enter the desired pause.Press to enter a Hard Pause.The letter “p”displaysin the number, meaning that a hard pause will occur atthat point in the dialing sequence. Enter the digits thatneed to follow the pause (such as your account num-ber).Press to enter a two second pause.The letter “T”displays in the number, meaning that a “Timed”pausewill occur at that point in the dialing sequence.Enterthe digits that need to follow the pause (such as youraccount number).3. Store the number in your Internal Phone Book as younormally would by pressing the key and followingthe screen prompts.Pause dialing from a stored Internal PhoneBook entryPause dialing from the Internal Phone Book is easy:1. If you stored the number using a two second pause(s),simply dial the number from the Internal Phone Book.The phone transmits the number that follows the “T”pause two seconds after connection.“SENDING DTMF”flashes on the screen (the transmitted tones are audible).2. If you stored the number using a hard pause(s), simplydial the number from the Internal Phone Book and waitfor the appropriate prompt from the number you are call-ing (credit card number, bank account number, etc.).When prompted,press to send the DTMF number thatfollows your hard pause.“SENDING DTMF” flashes on thescreen (the transmitted tones are audible).
