7978Reviewing Numeric Pages, Text Messages, andBrowser MessagesWhen the message arrives, you can immediately review itby pressing , or store the message for later review bypressing . The Messages menu provides options forreviewing the sender’s name, phone number, time / datestamp and the message.Note: Browser message notification may not be available attime of printing.To review a stored (or old) numeric page, or text messagefrom Standby mode:1. Press to display the Messages menu.The number ofnew (unread) messages displays next to the associatedmessage type in the menu.2. Press for Page/Text or for Browser Msg.Alist of messages displays.An exclamation point ( ! )nextto an entry indicates an urgent message.A check mark( √ ) next to an entry indicates that you have read themessage.3. Use the scroll keys to scroll the list of messages.4. When the message displays,press to review themessage.While reviewing the message the scroll keysoperate like this:Slide up/down to scroll up/down to the next message.Slide left/right to page up/down in the currentmessage.Note: While reviewing a message, you can press formore options. Press to return to the previous screen.MessagingYour Samsung PCS Phone receives four kinds of messages:voicemail,text, numeric pages and Browser messages.(Wireless Web message notification may not be availabledepending on your service provider.)Incoming MessagesYour phone receives incoming messages in both Standbyand Talk modes.When you are on a call and receive a mes-sage, your phone automatically mutes the ringer and pro-vides the call waiting tone (this is to avoid ringing in yourear while you are trying to talk).Receiving a Message in Standby modeWhen your phone receives a message in Standby mode, theringer sounds (unless turned off), and the screen displays(“New Voicemail”,“New Text”,“New Page” or “NewBrowserMsg”).The message indicator ( ) displays andremains on the screen until you listen to the new voicemailmessage, or read the new Wireless Web message ,t ext mes-sage or numeric page.Receiving a Message while on a callIf you receive a new text message or numeric page whileon a voice call, the Call Waiting tone sounds and a messageheader displays.You can easily review the new messagewhile on the call by just pressing . Your call will not bedisconnected, and you can ask the other party to waitwhile you review the message. If you are using the optionalhands-free headset, then you can read the message whilecontinuing your conversation.
