103102Receiving a callWhen you have an incoming Data/Fax call, your phone’s dis-play will show what type of call you are receiving, along withthe number of the caller. If the number matches an entry inyour Internal Phone Book, the name will also be displayed.If you select Auto Answer mode, your phone will automatical-ly answer Data/Fax calls when the data cable is connected.Receiving a data/fax callNote: Your phone must be on a digital network to receive orsend faxes and data.1. Ensure that your Samsung PCS Phone is connected toyour computing device and is powered on.2. Press to display the Main menu.3. Press for Setup/Tool.4. Press for Data/Fax In.5. Use the scroll keys to select “Incoming Data(Fax) Only”.6. Press to save the setting.The screen displays “Noincoming voice calls can be received”.Your phone thenreturns to Standby mode and displays “* Data(Fax) Only *”above the greeting.Note: Once you have set your phone’s mode to “IncomingData(Fax) Only”, you cannot receive regular voice calls untilyou change back to “Voice”.7. In the Data(Fax) program on your PC, setup the Answermode.Click on “Receive” and select one of the following:Automatic Receive (recommended)Manual ReceiveYour phone is now ready to receive an incoming data(fax).Reading the DisplayOnce the call is successfully connected, your phone’s dis-play shows transmission information.During the callCaller IDYour phone stores the numbers of incoming Wireless DataConnection calls with your voice Caller IDs.To let youknow which is which, you will see “Data” or “Fax”alongwith the number of the caller when viewing your CallerIDs.Accessing FeaturesWhile connected on a Wireless Data Connection call, youcan still access most features.You can navigate the phone’smenu system to change or view your phone’s features orPhone Book entries or read messages or Caller IDs that youreceived before placing the call.Call WaitingIf someone tries to reach you during a Wireless DataConnection call, you phone will behave like it is turnedOFF (depending on your service,callers will probably getyour voicemail). If you subscribe to Call Waiting, it willautomatically be deactivated whenever you place orreceive a Wireless Data Connection Call.
