Setting Up ServiceSection 1A. Setting Up Service 3Activating Your Phone If you purchased your phone at a Sprint Store, it isprobably activated and ready to use. If you received your phone in the mail, it may activateautomatically when you first turn it on, or you mayneed to perform a few simple activation steps.1. Press to turn the phone on. If your phone activates automatically, you will seea brief message and your phone will enterstandby mode. Continue to “Setting Up YourVoicemail” on page 4. If you do not see an activation message, proceedwith step 2.2. Press > Web. (There is no charge to use thisservice during phone activation.)3. To confirm your activation, make a phone call.For assistance with phone activation, call SprintCustomer Service at 1-888-211-4727 from any otherphone.Note Your phone’s battery should have enough charge toturn on, find a signal, set up your voicemail, and makea call. You should fully charge your battery as soon aspossible. See “Charging the Battery” on page 19 fordetails.Tip Do not press while the phone is being activated.Pressing cancels the activation process.Note You can also confirm your activation through thephone’s menu. Press Menu > Settings > Phone Info >Phone Number. If your wireless phone number isdisplayed, your phone is ready to use.Tip When calling Sprint Customer Service, you will beasked for information printed under the battery.
