70 ScanningActivating talkgroup scanningTalkgroup scanning monitors calls from multipletrunked talkgroups, and up to five additionalconventional channels (P25 or analog), from acrosszones. If conventional channels are included as groupmembers, your radio will briefly leave the trunkingcontrol channel to scan these channels at regularintervals.Warning If a talkgroup scan group contains P25 oranalog conventional channels, scanning needs to exittrunk mode briefly to scan the conventional channels.This may result in delayed or even missed calls!Talkgroup scanning is useful if you need to operateacross multiple trunked talkgroups. When talkgroupscanning is activated, the currently-selected talkgroupor channel is temporarily included in the scan group. Ifyou change zones, the radio continues to monitorgroup members as well as the currently selectedtalkgroup or channel from the new zone.To turn talkgroup scanning on:■ Press Menu and select Radio settings >Functions > Scanning, or press the function keyprogrammed for talkgroup scanning.Talkgroup scanning remains on until you eitherpress the function key again, or select a standard,background or in-zone scan group.
