26 Getting startedAudible tonesThe radio uses audible tones to alert you to its status:■ Radio controls and keypress tones—the tones andbeeps you hear when you press your radio’s keys oruse the controls. (You can turn these tones off—see“Turning off radio controls and keypress tones” onpage 82.)■ Incoming call tone—when the radio is receivinga call.■ Warning tones—when there is an error.Note: If quiet or silent mode is turned on, you will nothear any alert tones.
