Troubleshooting 115Removing the microphoneFor information on installing or removing yourradio from a vehicle, refer to the InstallationGuide.1 Using your thumb or forefinger, lift up one of thecorners of the microphone grommet and firmly (butgently) pull that corner until the seal comes awayfrom the cavity.Notice Remove the grommet carefully as it servestwo important functions. Firstly, it prevents damage tothe microphone socket due to movement of themicrophone cord, and secondly, it ensures that thecontrol head is sealed against water, dust, and otherenvironmental hazards.2 Repeat to expose another corner.3 Pull the exposed corners back and slide thegrommet up the cable to reveal the microphoneplug.4 Remove the plug from the microphone socket.General careYour radio requires no regular maintenance otherthan ensuring that all the cables and connections aresecure, and that no damage has occurred to theantenna or wiring.Notice To prevent permanent damage to the radiocover, do not allow the radio to come into contact withdetergents, alcohol, aerosol sprays or petroleum-based products.If you need to clean the radio cover, use a clothdampened with clean water.
