Use A_TRK option in the REC sub-menu to set themode on. The A.TRACK indicator at the top right of thedisplay lights.2. Rotate and push the MULTI JOG dial to select andenter the modes following:DD (digital direct)When recording digitally from MD, CD or DAT, thismode detects a track boundary and divides the track.However, when the DD mode is on, and if the analogsource or non-DAT/CD/MD digital connections aredetected, the track number will be incremented usinglevel detection, as set with the A_TRK LEVEL settingas described here.Time (Time track increment)The track will be incremented when the time set priorto recording using the menu item “A_TRK TIME?” haspassed (see “Operation basics” on page 16). The timecan be set between one minute and ten minutes in oneminute increments. The A.TRACK indicator blinks duringrecording or when in record ready mode.LevelWhen the sound level has dropped below the thresholdfor more than two seconds, and sound has re-started, thetrack will be divided.Use A_TRK LEVEL option in the REC sub-menu. Bear these limitations in mind whenadding track divisions.This operation can not be applied while recordingtrack 99.Rec mute functionThe Rec mute function allows instant cut-off of the input signal,and records four seconds of silence on the disc.While recording is in progress, press the REC MUTE key on theremote control.The display shows the Rec Mute flashing, the meters stop display-ing the current level and the monitored sound is cut.After about four seconds, the unit enters record ready mode.NOTEThis function is only available from the remotecontrol unit.Restricting the number of tracksWhen making a recording, it is possible to restrict the number oftracks that nay be recorded at one time.At any time within record or record ready mode, turn theMULTI JOG dial to display the track numbers you want torecord.The maximum number that can be entered is 99 tracks.
