Select the folder or file with the name that you want to edit,and press the MULTI JOG dial to open the folder or file menupop-up.2. Turn the MULTI JOG dial to select RENAME.Folder menu File menu3. Press the MULTI JOG dial to open the RENAME screen.4. Edit the name of the folder or file.For details about editing folder and file names, see “Inputtingand editing characters” on page 31.5. When you are done editing the folder or file name, turn theMULTI JOG dial to select Enter, and press the MULTI JOGdial to confirm the name change.“RENAMING...” appears in a pop-up, and the folder or filename is changed.After the folder or file name is changed, the BROWSE screenreopens.CAUTION• You can also directly access SD/CF/USB media from acomputer to change the names of files, but doing so couldchange the previous playback order of the files.• Names that contain characters other than the letters of thealphabet, numbers and symbols cannot be edited (the namewill not appear when the RENAME function is being used).• The following symbols and punctuation marks cannot beused in names.¥ \ / ; : , * ? " < > |NOTEIn addition to using the BROWSE screen to select a folder orfile to change its name, you can also use the RENAME itemon the TRACK EDITpage of the menu screen to edit thename of the selected folder or file.Deleting folders and filesYou can delete folders and files from SD cards, CF cards and USBflash drives.If you delete a folder, all the files in it will also be deleted.1. Select the folder or file that you want to delete, and pressthe MULTI JOG dial to open the folder or file menu pop-up.2. Turn the MULTI JOG dial to select DELETE.Folder menu File menu3. Press the MULTI JOG dial.A confirmation pop-up message appears.NOTEPress the EXIT/CANCEL [PEAK CLEAR] button to canceldeletion.4. Press the MULTI JOG dial again to delete the selected folderor file from the SD card, CF card or USB flash drive.While the folder or file is being deleted, “DELETING FILE...”appears in a pop-up.After deletion completes, the BROWSE screen reopens.NOTEIn addition to using the BROWSE screen to select a folderor file to delete, you can also use the DELETE item onthe TRACK EDITpage of the menu screen to delete theselected folder or file.
