6 – Interfacing with your Audio SoftwareTASCAM US-122 — 21Setting the Sample Rate and Bit DepthThe US-122 supports sample rates of44.1kHz and 48kHz. In the AudioControl Panel, select the pull-downmenu for Sample Rate and select either44.1 kHz or 48 kHz.The US-122 control protocol includestwo separate drivers for 16-bit or 24-bitoperation. This selection is made in theAudio Control Panel (see the illustra-tion).NOTEThe bundled Cubasis VST supports only 16-bit audio. If you want to record in 24-bitmode you will need to upgrade to CubaseVST or another application that supports24-bit audio.Input EnablingYou will need to enable the inputs onCubasis. Open the Audio Input window(see the illustration here) and select onemono track or a stereo pair.Note that Cubasis supports only oneinput for recording (though this can be amono or stereo track).Then select the inputs on Cubasis’ inter-nal mixer. If you’re recording a monoinput, left click on the input selectorabove the channel strip and select thedesired input L or R. If you’re recording astereo track, the inputs will both beselected automatically Verify that thedesignated channels’ inputs (IN) areselected, and the associated channels arereceiving signal.
