Loosenand remove as many sprocket retainingfasteners as possible from the hub adapter.2 Drive the machine in either direction justenough to access the remaining fasteners. Donot remove the retaining fasteners.3 Chock the tracks at the opposite end of themachine to prevent the machine from rolling.4 Center a lifting jack of ample capacity(20,000 lbs / 10,000 kg) under the drivechassis between the tracks.5 Lift the machine until the tracks are off theground and then place jack stands under thedrive chassis for support.6 Attach a lifting strap from an overhead craneto the center-point of the track assembly,above the sprocket.7 Remove the remaining sprocket retainingfasteners from the hub adapter.8 Carefully remove the track assembly from thedrive hub and set aside.Crushing hazard. The trackassembly could becomeunbalanced and fall whenremoved from the machine ifnot properly supported by theoverhead crane.How to Replace the TrackNote: Perform this procedure on a firm, levelsurface with the machine in the stowed position.1 Remove the track assembly from themachine. Refer to Repair Procedure, How toRemove a Track Assembly.Note: The sprocket is comprised of two halves.Before removing the track assembly from themachine and to ease the removal of the sprocket,drive the machine until one complete half of thesprocket is located above the undercarriage of thetrack assembly.2 Loosen the grease plug on the track tensioncylinder to relieve the track tension. Clean upany grease that has spilled.3 Remove the 2 sprocket retaining fasteners.Remove the sprocket half from the trackassembly.4 Carefully remove the track from theundercarriage.5 Use an overhead supporting device to lay theundercarriage on its side with the drivesprocket bearing assembly facing upward andthe track tension cylinder towards the ground.
