43Chapter 9: System TabAirRouter HP User GuideUbiquiti Networks, Inc.Device MaintenanceThe controls in this section are dedicated for the devicemaintenance routines: rebooting, resetting, generating ofthe support information report.Firmware Version Shows the current firmware version.Build Number Displays the build number of the firmwareversion loaded.Update Click to update the device with new firmware.• Firmware UploadThe device firmware update is compatible with allconfiguration settings. System configurations arepreserved while the device is updated with a newfirmware version.- Current Firmware Displays the version of the AirOSfirmware which is currently operating.- Firmware File Click Browse to locate new firmwarefile. Select the file and click Open. Once you’veselected a new firmware file, click Upload to uploadthe new firmware to the device. Click Close thiswindow to cancel the new firmware upload process.- Update Click the Update button to proceed withthe firmware upgrade routine (new firmware imageshould be uploaded into the system first). Please bepatient, as the firmware upgrade routine can take 3-7minutes. The AirRouter HP will be inaccessible untilthe firmware upgrade routine is completed.- Do not switch off, do not reboot and do notdisconnect the device from the power supply duringthe firmware upgrade process as these actions willdamage the device!- It is highly recommended that you back up thesystem configuration and the Support Info file beforeuploading the new configuration.- Close this window At this point, closes the firmwareupgrade window if activated. This action will notcancel the firmware upgrade process.Reboot Click Reboot in order to initiate the full rebootcycle of the device. Reboot is the same as the hardwarereboot which is similar to the power off - power on cycle.The system configuration is not modified after the rebootcycle completes. Any non-applied changes will be lost.Reset to Defaults Use this to reset the AirRouter HPto the factory default settings. This option will rebootthe AirRouter HP and all factory default settings will berestored. You may want to use the Backup Configurationoption to download your current settings before selectingthis option.Support Info This will generate a support informationfile that the Ubiquiti support engineers can use whenproviding customer support. This file only needs begenerated at their request.ToolsAirOS on the AirRouter HP includes networkadministration and monitoring tools that are available onevery tab.• Align Antenna • Traceroute• Site Survey • Speed Test• Ping • AirViewAlign AntennaThe Align Antenna utility allows the installer to point andoptimize the antenna in the direction of maximum linksignal.Selection of the Align Antenna tool will open a newwindow with signal strength indicator. Window reloadsevery second displaying the signal strength of the lastreceived packet.Signal Level/Horizontal/Vertical Displays the receivedwireless signal levels for each polarity, while operatingin Station (or Station WDS) mode on MIMO 2x2 devices.Signals Strength is measured in dBm.Noise Level Value displays the value of the noise levelwireless signal was received.Max Signal The Max Signal slider bar allows the range ofthe meter to be either increased or reduced. If the rangeis reduced, the color change will be more sensitive tosignal fluctuations indicating the offset of the maximumindicator value and the scale itself.
