16. FINAL REVIEW1. COMPLETE THE INFORMATION IN THE WARRANTY AND SERVICESECTION OF THE OWNER GUIDE (See last pages of the OWNER guide).2. If a gap is visible between the inner sides of the fascia and the ceramic side walls,gently slide the walls forward.3. Visually inspect the appliance. Clean off any marks incurred during installation.4. Advise the customer how to operate the appliance. Point out that lightinginstruction details are on the metal plate attached at the bottom of the appliance.Explain to the customer that the appliance has a flame failure & spillage monitoringsystem. Point out the explanation of this system shown in the owner guide under“Operating the fire”. Advise that if the fire goes out for any reason, wait at least threeminutes before relighting. Stress that if the monitoring system repeatedly shuts off thefire, the appliance should be switched off and a specialist should be consulted.5. Advise the customer that they should read their owner guide before operating thefire and always follow the advice in the section headed “Cleaning your fire”.6. Stress that no extra ceramic fuel effect pieces must be added over and abovethose supplied with the appliance and that any replacements must only be theauthorised spares. Warn that ignoring this advice could cause incompleteclearance of the products of combustion with consequent health hazards.7. Advise the customer that the appliance will operate to its maximum potential if theflue is primed during the first 20 – 30 minutes of use. To do this, simply slide thecontrol to its highest setting. This will also burn off any carbon deposits that may haveformed during previous use.If using the appliance for long periods it is beneficial to change between settings. Thiswill also help to remove any carbon deposits that may form during use.8. Recommend that the appliance should be serviced by a competent person at leastannually.9. If the appliance is in premises in the United Kingdom occupied by a tenant, pointout that by law a landlord must have any gas appliance, flue and pipework which issituated in a tenant’s premises checked for safety at least every 12 months.10. Advise that the fire may give off a slight odour while new. This is quite normal andit will disappear after a short period of use.11. Inform the customer that the Serial number for the appliance is located onthe information label / swing plate, located behind the lower firefront casting /bottom front cover and underneath the burner module.12.
