If the brake pedal is released whena gear is engaged, the vehicle will "creep".Never depress the accelerator and brakepedals simultaneously.Once D has been selected, the economydriving programme is operative. Position Dis generally ideal for driving.If the accelerator pedal is depressed gentlyand evenly the transmission will shift intothe fuel-saving gears at an early stage. Thedrive range needs be changed manuallyonly in exceptional cases. Select 3, 2 and 1only when automatic shifting up is to beavoided or if additional use is to be madeof the engine braking effect.Select D again as soon as drivingconditions permit.Transmission displayThe current selector lever position is shownin the transmission display in thetachometer.Failure to follow the description can leadto injuries or endanger life.
