196Maintenance,Inspection systemIn order to guarantee economical and safevehicle operation and to maintain thevalue of your vehicle, it is of vitalimportance that all maintenance work iscarried out at the proper intervals asspecified by Vauxhall. The oil change and service intervals areflexible, based on a number of differentparameters and the conditions underwhich the vehicle is used. Various engine-specific data is continuously recorded andused to calculate the remaining distanceuntil the next service is due. This remaining distance can be shown onthe speedometer display with the ignitionoff and the mileage odometer off: Pressthe actuating knob under the odometer,InsP and the remaining distance will bedisplayed. If the remaining distance is less than 1000miles (1500 km), InsP is displayed with aremaining distance of 600 miles (1000 km)when the ignition is switched on. InsP isdisplayed for several seconds if theremaining distance is less than 300 miles(500 km). Have the service work that is duecarried out within one week or 300 miles(500 km). Have this work carried out by aVauxhall Authorised Repairer in order toavoid loss of warranty claims. The service interval display takes accountof off-the-road periods during which thebattery is disconnected.Further information on maintenance andthe inspection system can be found in theService Booklet, which is in the glovecompartment.Have maintenance work, as well as repairsto the bodywork and units, carried out by aprofessional. We recommend a VauxhallAuthorised Repairer, who is familiar withVauxhall vehicles and in possession of thenecessary special tools and the latestService Instructions from Vauxhall.
