By affixing the CEmarking, we confirm the conformity of the instru-ment with these directives.The EU conformity declaration can be found onour homepage.2.6 Radio licenses for EuropeVEGAPULS WL S 61The instrument was tested according to thelatest issue of the following harmonized stan-dards:• EN 302372 - Tank Level Probing Radar• EN 302729 - Level Probing RadarIt is hence approved for use inside and outsideclosed vessels in countries of the EU.Use is also approved in EFTA countries,provided the respective standards have beenimplemented.For operation inside of closed vessels, points ato f in annex E of EN 302372 must be fulfilled.For operation outside of closed vessels, thefollowing conditions must be fulfilled:• The installation must be carried out bytrained qualified personnel• The instrument must be stationary moun-ted and the antenna directed verticallydownward• The mounting location must be at least 4 kmaway from radio astronomy stations, unlessspecial permission was granted by the res-ponsible national approval authority• When installed within 4 to 40 km of a radioastronomy station, the instrument must notbe mounted higher than 15 m above theground.You can find a list of the respective radio astro-nomy stations in chapter "Supplement".Bluetooth radio moduleThe radio module used in the instrument for wi-reless Bluetooth communication was tested bythe manufacturer according to the latest editionof the following standard:• EN 300328 – Wideband transmissionsystemsIt is hence for use inside closed vessels in coun-tries of the EU and EFTA.2.7 Radio approval for USAThis approval is only valid for USA.
