You can find detailedinformation on the process conditions inchapter "Technical data" of the operatinginstructions or on the type label.Make sure before mounting that all parts of theinstrument exposed to the process are suitablefor the existing process conditions. These are mainly:• Active measuring component• Process fitting• Process sealProcess conditions in particular are:• Process pressure• Process temperature• Chemical properties of the medium• Abrasion and mechanical influences4.2 Mounting versionsStraining clampMost simply mount the instrument via thestraining clamp. For this purpose, the connec-tion cable is provided with a strain relief wire ofKevlar. In order to avoid faulty measured values, makesure that the sensor does not oscillate.> 200 mm(7.87")Abb. 16: Mounting via a straining clampMounting bracketFor a rigid mounting, a mounting bracket withopening for thread G1½, e.g. from the VEGAproduct range, is recommended. The mountingof the sensor in the bracket is carried out via aG1½ counter nut of plastic. Take note of chapter"Mounting instructions" for the distance to thewall.> 200 mm(7.87")Abb. 17: Mounting via a mounting bracket4.3 Mounting instructionsPolarisationThe emitted radar impulses of the radar sensorare electromagnetic waves. The polarisation isthe direction of the electrical wave component.By turning the instrument in the mounting strap, the polarisation can be used to reduce theeffects of false echoes. The position of the polarisation is in the middleof the type label on the instrument.
