The ramp generator serves, among otherpurposes, to protect the slower mechanical systems when the setpoint value ischanged erratically.Figure 20: Ramp GeneratorFour parameterizable ramps are provided for the ramp function, which canincrease or reduce the actual value when the setpoint value is directly specified.The selection of the active ramp takes place when the setpoint value is enteredinto the process imageThere are likewise ramps that can be parameterized to switch the dithering on andoff, as well as to increase or reduce the setpoint value in the setup mode.The gradient of a ramp is defined in relation to the entire range of the setpointvalue. This allows a jumping setpoint value change by 100% of the nominal valueto be divided across a parameterizable time period of up to 10 s.
