DVR User’s Manual494.6 Intercom FunctionIntercom function enables the DVR site to communicate with the camera site.This function will be available when the optional Audio Out connectors areinstalled and the audio output devices are connected.To initiate communication, press and hold any channel key for 2 seconds.When the communication starts, below message will be shown on the screen:INTERCOMYOU ARE NOW COMMUNICATING WITH CHANNEL02At this time, users will be able to hear audio from the camera site, even if theaudio output setting is disabled in the OSD setup menu. To start speaking tothe camera site, press and hold the DOME key. Once the DOME key isreleased, the audio from the camera site will be heard again.To terminate intercom, press the same channel key or press ESC.NOTE: Intercom function is not available for channel 1.4.7 UPnP FunctionUPnP is the abbreviation for Universal Plug and Play, which is a relativelynew technology that integrates a universal protocol for widespreadplug-and-play devices to ease the network implementation. When a PC and aDVR both installed the UPnP function, the PC can automatically recognizethe DVR in the same local area network.The advantage of this function is that PCs can connect to the DVR via theremote control software by directly clicking on the icon representing the DVRin <My Network Places> folder.
