Power printer OFF, then ON.2. Print a Configuration Sheet (see page 3-62 ).• If Configuration Sheet prints, printer is OK. Check your softwareapplication and your printer connection. See below.• If Configuration Sheet does not print, contact your dealer or Xerox / RankXerox.A file sent from the hostdoes not print1. Check if printer is Online.2. Send a plain text file (i.e., one without printing commands embedded in it) tothe printer. (You may need to depress the form feed key when the LEDremains lit if Auto Job End is not set.)• If file prints correctly in the default font, with all of the characters in theoriginal file, the printer is seeing the same data that the host is sending,and the interface or communication line is functioning correctly.• If no data prints (or the last page indicator does not come on):A. Check configuration to be certain the printer is configured properly.B. If using the parallel or serial port, the port may be disabled on theprinter. Check the Configuration Sheet for the port you are using tosee if Port Enable is ON. If OFF, set to ON and try again.C. If using an optional Xerox network interface card (XNIC) (i.e.,Ethernet, LocalTalk, or Token Ring), check the Configuration Sheetto see if the printer is acknowledging that the XNIC is present. (Referto XNIC installation instructions packaged with the option.)– If the XNIC is not acknowledged, power OFF printer andunplug. Pull out controller board, remove the XNIC and checkthat connector pins are not bent. If bent, straighten. Reseat theXNIC securely, put controller board back in printer, power ONand print Configuration Sheet. If XNIC is still notacknowledged, the XNIC has failed. Contact your dealer orXerox / Rank Xerox.– If the XNIC is acknowledged, check if printer is recognized bythe host.
