PostScript may be used bysoftware applications to send information and instructions tothe printer. The 4505ps and 4510ps printers are factory-equipped withPostScript.PostScript is available as an option for the 4505 and 4510printers. See Appendix D: Ordering Information.PostScript Users:The Xerox Windows PostScript driver allows you to eitherdownload the PostScript header with every job, or downloadit only once. If the printer is used in a network or other sharedenvironment, where both PCL and PostScript jobs are printed, the header will be deleted whenever the printer switchesfrom PostScript to PCL. Banner sheets printed from Novellnetworks cause the printer to switch between PostScript andPCL. If Banner Sheets are printed, insure that the printer’sLanguage Sensing option is On. To avoid the loss of thePostScript header, select “Download Each Job” in thePostScript driver. The “Already Downloaded” option may beselected in the driver if at least 10 MB of memory is installedin the printer and the printer’s State Saving option is set to Onin the printer’s PostScript menu. You must download theheader at least once for each power on cycle. If severaldifferent PostScript applications are used, the “DownloadEach Job” option will guarantee that the correct header isalways available.PostScriptMenuNoteNoteAUG-CH03 Page 29 Black,Red,Cyan Friday, February 3, 1995 12:22 AM
