Scanning from TWAIN DocuMate 70058 User’s GuideScanning from the TWAIN Advanced InterfaceThe Advanced Interface has more options for scanning than the Basic Interface.1. Open the TWAIN Interface.2. If the Basic Interface opens, click the Advanced Interface button.The Advanced Interface opens.3. Click one of the icons to select a configuration.The configuration settings appear as a list. Click the + (plus) signto see the full list. Click the - (minus) sign to collapse the list.• Color scans the image in full color. Use this setting to scancolor photographs and other color images.• Grayscale scans the image using up to 256 true shades ofgray. Use this setting to scan black and white photographsand other higher quality black and white images. You can alsoscan a color photo with this setting to turn its colors into greyshades.• Black&White is for letters, memos, pen and ink drawings, and other black and whitematerial.4. Click the Preview button to preview the image before scanning.5. Review the image to determine if adjustments are needed.6. To adjust a setting, click the setting in the list on the left below the selected configuration.A panel opens on the right side of the Advanced Interface for the selected setting. The nextsection provides details about the options found in these side panels.7. When you’re satisfied with the image, click the Scan button.8. When you’re finished scanning items, click Done to close the Advanced Interface.9. The scanned images will appear in PaperPort, or other TWAIN application you’re using.Click an icon to select aconfiguration—Color, GreyScale, or Black&White. Clickingthe “+” sign in front of Customshows Custom’s scan settings.Click a setting in the list tochange it. The setting’s optionsappear on the right side of theAdvanced Interface where youcan make changes if necessary.Click Preview toview the imagein the window.Check the Scan Info to makesure your computer hassufficient space for the image.Warning icons on this boxappear if your computer doesnot have enough space for thescanned image’s file.If you don’t need all thefeatures of the AdvancedInterface, click Basic Interfaceto return to it. Click Done to closethe AdvancedInterface.When you are satisfiedwith the scan settings,click Scan.
