Planning for the installationDocuTech 61xx Installation Planning Guide 3-3Before scheduling delivery of the DocuTech systemThe following activities should be completed before youschedule a delivery date for the DocuTech system:• Select a location for the DocuTech system.• Prepare the site:– Install any required electrical service. Order Xeroxreceptacle kits if required. Refer to the section, “Electricalrequirements”, in chapter 3 for further information.– Install any required Ethernet hardware.– Complete the heat management worksheets included inthe section, “Heat management”, in chapter 3. Performany modifications to the air handling capabilities of theinstallation site based on the results of your assessment.– Reserve a network address and hostname for eachDocuSP controller workstation.• Identify networked client workstations that will submit jobs.Ensure that the hardware, operating system, and networkprotocols are supported by the DocuSP controller.• Complete the Installation Worksheets from the Getting Readyfor the DocuSP Installation guide.After the preceding activities are complete, schedule a deliverydate for the DocuTech hardware. This should be done with yourXerox sales representative.After scheduling deliveryThe following activities should begin at least two weeks prior tothe scheduled delivery date of the DocuTech system to yourlocation:• Perform a final inspection of the installation site.• Order the required consumable supplies that will be usedduring the installation process. The minimum suppliesrequired during installation are:– Paper, 2 cartons– Developer, 1 carton– Fuser agent, 2 cartons– Binder tape and stitcher wire
