Theminimum required width for doorways is 35 inches (89 cm.) whenthe module can pass straight through.Required turning radiusWhen the system modules must negotiate a corner duringdelivery, additional passageway width requirements must beconsidered. Such cases arise when a module must be able toturn to negotiate a corner, turn to pass through a door, or turn toenter an elevator.There are L-shaped turns and T-shaped turns. The diagramsand the tables that follow show the minimum space needed tomaneuver through the turns. To use the tables, follow thesesteps:1. Measure the minimum width of the passage or doorwaythrough which the hardware module must be moved. This isPassage A.2. Locate the number (or the next higher number) in the leftcolumn of Table 3-2.3. Read across the row to the corresponding minimum value forPassage B, depending on the type of turn the equipmentmust negotiate (L-turn or T-turn).
