..~~. ..,,. ...~,::,,~RAP 18 Paper FeedingThis procedure is used to troubleshoot printerpaper feed problems.Initial Actions* Disconnect the power cord and ensure thatthere is no obstruction in the paper path.* Clean the paper feed roller.ProcedureNOTE: The circuit diagrams are OR thefollowing two pages.1. Check fuse Fl on the main PWB.Fl is OK.i NReplace the fuse (PL 8.1). If the newfuse fails, go to step 7.2. Check fuse F2 on the main PWB.F2 is OK.i NReplace the fuse (PL 8.1). If the newfuse fails, go to step 9.3. Disconnect CN3 and CN4 from the mainPWB. Measure the voltage at the followingpins on the main PWB.CN3.1~32 -._..___.___.__.._ +42VDCCN4.j 8 2-. _ _. _ _. __ . _. _ +42vDCVoltages are correct.Y NI Perform RAP 10.4. With connectors CN3 and CN4 disconnected,measure the resistance between the pins.Refer to Tables 4 and 5.Resistance is OK.i !epIace the defective motor(REP 7.2 or REP 5.2).5. Check the following components andconnections.* ASF sensor and harness connector CN6(REP 6.2).* Encoder and harness connector (REP 5.4).* Paper feed brake solenoid (RAP 27).* Head ribbon cable and connectors (PL 5.1).Components and connections are OK.i Lpair or replace part6. Replace the main PWB (REP 8.1).7. Check the paper feed motor for mechanicalbinding or incorrect reSi&ance (fable 2).Motor is OK.Y NI Replace the paper feed motor(REP 7.2).8. Replace the main PWB (REP 8.1).9. Check the carriage motor for mechanicalbinding or incorrect resistance (Table 1).i6 I/ tMotor is OK.i NReplace the carriage motor (REP 5.2)10.
