Using Windows PostScript Driver245 Using Windows PostScriptDriverIf you want to use the PostScript driver provided with your systemCD-ROM to print a document.PPDs, in combination with the PostScript driver, access printerfeatures and allow the computer to communicate with the printer. Aninstallation program for the PPDs is provided on the suppliedsoftware CD-ROM.Printer SettingsYou can use the printer properties window, which allows you to accessall of the printer options you need when using your printer. When theprinter properties are displayed, you can review and change the settingsneeded for your print job.Your printer properties window may differ, depending on your operatingsystem. This Software User Guide shows the Properties window forWindows XP.Your printer driver Properties window that appears in this User Guidemay differ depending on the printer in use.NOTES:• Most Windows applications will override settings you specify inthe printer driver. Change all print settings available in thesoftware application first, and change any remaining settingsusing the printer driver.• The settings you change remain in effect only while you are usingthe current program. To make your changes permanent, makethem in the Printers folder.• The following procedure is for Windows XP. For other WindowsOS, refer to the corresponding Windows User's Guide or onlinehelp.1. Click the Windows Start button.2. Select Printers and Faxes.3. Select your printer driver icon.4. Right-click on the printer driver icon and selectPrinting Preferences.5.
