The machine is not receivingpower.• Check the power cord connections.• Check the power switch and thepower source.The machine is not selected asthe default machine.• Select your machine as your defaultmachine in Windows.Check the machine for the following:• The front door is not closed. Close the front door.• Paper is jammed. Clear the paper jam. (See Paper Jams on page 95.)• No paper is loaded. Load paper. (See Loading Paper Tray 1 and PaperTray 2 (optional) on page 66.)• The print cartridge is not installed. Install the print cartridge.If a system error occurs, contact your service representative.The connection cable betweenthe computer and the machineis not connected properly.• Disconnect the machine cable andreconnect it.The connection cable betweenthe computer and the machineis defective.• If possible, attach the cable toanother computer that is workingproperly and print a job. You can alsotry using a different machine cable.The port setting is incorrect. • Check the Windows printer setting tomake sure that the print job is sentto the correct port. If the computerhas more than one port, make surethat the machine is attached to thecorrect one.The machine may beconfigured incorrectly.• Check the printer driver options toensure that all of the print settingsare correct. (See Print Procedure onpage 34.)The printer driver may beincorrectly installed.• Reinstall the printer software. (SeeInstall Printer Software on page 24.)The machine is malfunctioning. • Check the display message on thecontrol panel to see if the machine isindicating a system error. Contact aservice representative.The document size is so bigthat the hard disk space of thecomputer is insufficient toaccess the print job.• Get more hard disk space and printthe document again.
