1.29U s e r G u i d eP A P E R G U I D E L I N E S11Paper GuidelinesWhen selecting or loading paper,envelopes, or other special media, keepthese guidelines in mind:• Attempting to print on damp, curled,wrinkled, or torn paper can causepaper jams and poor print quality.• Use only high quality inkjet or copiergrade paper. Avoid paper withembossed lettering, perforations, ortexture that is too smooth or toorough.• Store paper in its ream wrapper untilready to use. Place cartons on palletsor shelves, not on the floor. Do notplace heavy objects on top of thepaper, whether it is packaged orunpackaged. Keep it away frommoisture, or other conditions that cancause it to wrinkle or curl.• During storage, moisture-proof wrap(any plastic container or bag) shouldbe used to prevent dust and moisturefrom contaminating your paper.• Always use paper and other mediathat conform with those listed underSpecifications in Appendix A.• Use only well-constructed envelopeswith sharp, well creased folds.• DO NOT use envelopes with claspsand snaps.• DO NOT use envelopes withwindows, coated linings, self-adhesive seals, or other syntheticmaterials.
